You may have noticed that there is a bit of a gap in the numbers in my ATC challenge, don’t fret, this isn’t a total and utter mess up on my part, I’m just a little behind on getting them online. WILL be catching up this week.
Anyway, the reason for today’s post is to wish you all a Happy Easter.
The whole ATC was inspired by the backing paper that had some hand illustrated eggs on it. I picked this up at my local craft shop and already had an idea of what I wanted to do with it when I got it home.
First I created the background by layering a piece of the backing paper onto coordinating coloured cardstock.
To create the nest I grabbed some raffia and wrapped lengths of it, one by one, around a small bottle and tied a knot on each one to secure it in place. I then layered these on top of each other with a little fibrous thread and glued it with Pinflair Glue Gel.
I then cut out some of the individual eggs, shaped them with my Tonic flower forming tools and then glued these into the nest with the glue gel.
For the sentiment I reached for the Happy Easter text stamps that I got free with Creative Stamping magazine and used two tones of pigment ink. I trimmed these down and attached them to the ATC with eggs that I had again cut from the backing paper.
And that my dear chocolate filled friends was it. Simple and stylish.
I hope that you are having a lovely Easter holiday no matter what you are doing.
