Artist Trading Card Daily – 76

Hello again my lovely readers. How are you today? Well I hope.

Here were are at number 76 in the Artist Trading card 365 challenge and I’ve put the quilling tools down and headed back into the stamp collection for today’s creation.

I don’t know about where you live but the sun has been shining here lately and a lot of nature’s bounty is starting to show signs of popping into life so I thought that I would use this as today’s theme.

This one started with a clear stamp of a bird (pheasant?) that I got free with issue 23 of Creative Stamping magazine.

I stamped him/her (not a clue) out onto a piece of white cardstock with Archival inkpad. With the left over ink on the stamp I created a mask from a post it note and masked off the birdy.

I then used a selection of earthy/naturey distress pens and the Perfect Paper Partners spritzer to apply some speckled colour to the background.

After removing the mask I then used the same colours to apply more intense colour to the bird.

The blessings sentiment was a clear stamp (from the same sheet?). I used the second generation ink to apply this as the first generation would have been too dark.

For the leafy border, from which the bird is emerging (you can imagine this, right?), I used a Martha Stewart leaf punch and several shades of cardstock.

After punching them out I applied them to the ATC with Pinflair Glue gel.

Artist Trading Card Daily - 76.3As a final touch I applied some glitter glue onto the bird to give it a little majesty.

And there we have it – a muted celebration of nature’s wonders!

Do you like it? Is it something that you could see being used in another project?

  1. Hi John, It’s a beautiful ATC, it could be made into a card for a guy or a girl, I think when stamping, the colours of birds don’t really matter, as long as they look as lovely as this one. Love and light Sioux x

I am pretty sure its a pheasant, I love the detail with the leaves. A lovely little picture!

I am not blessed with your imaginative skills so can’t suggest another scene for the little chap/ chapess!
