Artist Trading Card Daily – 72

Today’s Artist Trading Card creation has absolutely nothing to do with anything, it just kind of happened.

As I have been making a variety of quilled ATCs for this series I had a few bits and bobs left over so I thought, rather than waste them, I’d make a little something something from them.

So here it is!

Artist Trading Card Daily - 72.1

I know, it’s not really “anything” is it? But then I asked myself, does it have to be?

No. It doesn’t. I’m just having a good time quilling and didn’t want to waste what I had been making. That’s all :)

Anyway, all of the coils involved were loose coils and I made sure that they had an offset concentric formation (sounds fancy doesn’t it) by pinning the centres towards the edge in the quilling board whilst the glue dried.

Like this …

After creating the background from some scraps of paper and card I then mounted the coils onto the central area with some PVA …

…and that was that.

Sorry it’s not longer or more detailed, but to be honest, there wasn’t really much more to say on this one! lol ;)

  1. Beautiful. Thanks for the instructions too. These cards have been many and varied so just how do you get your inspiration ? X

  2. Hi John,

Love it, thinking it’s a design that’d make a super quilting panel. Obviously not with quills of fabric though I just thought that stitching the coils in might look awesome, especially with a contrast thread!

Funny how an idea from one person can trigger inspiration in another- that’s why we love crafting!

    Hugs,

  3. “Anything” is always something, to me it was rather “Eclectic and Retro” and I really liked it, all the more so because there was no set theme to it. Sometimes it’s nice to put something together for no other reason than “just because”

  4. I really like it. It appeals to me because of the contrast you have in the circles and squares and also the black and white, The red makes it vibrant. Well done.
    Love and Light Sioux x
