Ok, I’m back with the romance theme again today. You can tell that I’m dating, right? lol!
Anyway, here’s the fairly self explanatory Artist Trading Card that I have created.
Looks simple doesn’t it? Weirdly though, it’s one of the more complex that I have made as there was quite a few stages involved.
Firstly I stamped out the heart design (free with Craft Stamper Magazine) and then created a mask from Inkadinkado masking paper.
After applying the mask I then used some blue distress ink to lightly tone the background. I then applied more blue ink through the “Mini Microbial” mask from TCW Stencils to create a deeper tone of polka dots. This was then spritzed with water to soften it out.
While that was drying I went on to create the lettering for the sentiment.
The words “roses” and “are” were stamped using Dovercraft mini alphabet stamps (using black Versafine ink) and the “RED” letters were stamped out using the Hero Arts LL627 Alphabet Blocks stamps (in red Versacolor pigment ink).
I drew a black border around these with a PITT Indian ink pens and then cut them out.
Once the background had dried I coloured in the rose using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and coated it in Diamond Glaze. This actually went on to cracked a little when I was trying to de-warp the ATC but I liked the effect as it signifies my BROKEN HEART! (only joking).
Anyway, I completed the design by mounting it all onto complimentary cardstock and then applied the lettering with Pinflair Glue Gel.
So there we have it. Romance is NOT dead – despite what anyone tells you. I still believe! What about you?

Hi John
Just to let you know your last two posts (ATC’s 69 and70) have had a dodgy link. Takes it to the “internet broken” page, error 404. I am loving your ATC’s and trying out a few too!

Sorry, John. The “Read more ….” link isn’t working. I keep getting “404 Whoa … you broke the Internet”
Whilst writing I just want to say how much I am enjoying your ATC series. Not into that yet but love your ideas and am staching them for future reference. Many thanks.
