Anyone for a cuppa?
Today’s creation was definitely a break from the norm and a little bit of an experiment and took several cups to muse over.
I started out by stamping and heat embossing a lovely design from a sheet of stamps by Paper Artsy and Lynne Perrella. This was done onto watercolour cardstock.
The coloured background was then created by spreading Tim Holtz distress inks over the design and then spritzing with water and fast drying with a heat tool.
I mucked around with this a little more after drying and added a few extra areas of colour with Inktense pencils, spritzing and drying each time.
The edges were distressed with deep red and gold pigment ink. This made the greens in the design pop a little better.
I was going to add some lettering and a pennant however I decided that I liked this too much as it was and so just added a little subtle sparkle with some Perfect Pearls that I had watered down in a mini water spritzer.
To finish I layered the design onto black cardstock and then gold mirror card.
If I’m honest, the colours are more vibrant in real life than in this photo so I can say from here that it looks amazing – I hope that this is coming across at you too …

Wow – this is absolutely fabulous! I think this is my favourite so far and the colours you’ve used at the edges have certainly made this lovely image pop! I’ll have to have some of these Inktense pencils – they look so versatile and I’m loving the watercolour look! A triumph I think – I’ll definitely be having a go at this little number …. well done John! x
