Artist Trading Card Daily – 14

I’m feeling the love from you all lately for this series of Artist Trading Card Daily posts so I thought that I would create something to celebrate that.

Artist Trading Card Daily - 14.1

The background was created by heat embossing white embossing powder onto Super Smooth cardstock and then brushing over some light coloured inks, which I then spritzed lightly with water and allowed to dry.

This was then layered onto coordinating cardstock.

The sentiment panel was created using a random word stamp, (no idea who made it or where it came from), which I stamped onto white textured cardstock with black Versafine ink.

This was then punched out using a mini circle punch and layered onto cardstock that matched the layer used on the background.

I created strips of matching cardstock in order to wrap around the ATC with a metal ruler and craft knife.

The flowers were created using a mini flower punch. I cut lots of them out, glued two together to form each flower and pressed the centres into a foam sheet using an embossing tool, from my Tonic Studios flower forming set, to give them shape. I then glued an Anita’s Mini Gem into the centre with some PVA glue.

To assemble I attached the wrap strips to the background with PVA. Then added the love sentiment circle. I found some thin scrap strips of white cardstock in my re-use pile and folded them in half and glued in place with Pinflair Glue gel onto which I also placed the flowers.

And there we have it, another ATC for the collection (and a whole lot of love just for you).

I hope that you like it and that it may inspire you to have a go at these manageable mini makes.

  2. Hi John

I came upon your blog whilst on you tube looking for some tutorials for using my new Scan n Cut machine. I LOVE IT. I’M SO INSPIRED . Thank you for taking time to share all your creativity with us. I haven’t come across ATC;s before and wondered if you could tell me the dimensions for the card, as I want to have a go too. Thank you as well for putting together the tutorials for the Scan n cut. One question though, I have tried several times to download the SVG files but for some reason its not working for me even though I am following the instructions you have put on the site. Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you on Create and Craft next week.

    A very happy crafter

    • Not sure why this would be Debbie. All links have been checked and work just fine.
Might be worth giving it another try.

  3. Love it, John! Pretty colors – I like the cloudy look in the background. Thanks once again for sharing!
P.S. I was so excited to find a die that cuts paper in the shape of the dimensional bow you made on another card. It’s dimensional and so cool looking. Thank you for the inspiration!
