Inkadinkado Stamping Gear
Here’s a quick overview of the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear.
The Inkadinkado Stamping Gear is a system that helps you create precisely positioned repeat patterns using your rubber stamps. It takes all of the thinking and labour out of the job and gives you back the bit you enjoy. The creativity.
The first thing that I have to say is that I was very impressed with how easy the whole thing was to use, setting up is as simple as taking the tools out of their box.
Whilst I’m talking about the box, there are a number of design ideas on each and every packet from which you can get a good grasp of how the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear works.
There are a number of key components that are on offer with this system. You can pick and choose between these elements r just grab yourself the deluxe set which pretty much everything that you need.
So what’s what?
The Wheels and Cogs
These form the shape around which your repeat design will be created. These come in four shapes – circles, ovals, squares and rectangles.
I did some research to see what the different sizes would give me. Here is a summary that is relevant to all of the shapes –
- Stamping around the outer edge of the wheel gives you the largest design.
- Samping around the outer edge of the cog gives you the middle sized design.
- Stamping around the inner edge of the wheel gives you the smallest design.
The Stamping Handle
This specially designed handle (also called a paddle) has an ergonomic raised grip, a grid for perfect positioning of the stamp and a notch at either end so that it sits in the right position in the wheel or cog.
The handle for the square differs in that it has three notches on one end, this is so that you get perfect 45 degree angles.
The Stamps
The range of designs from EK Success is great, there are lots to choose from and each has been specifically designed to work with the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear sysem.
Each one has a piece of green ‘cling’ foam already stuck to them. This gives nice cushioning for even pressure when stamping and means that you can quickly change between stamps.
Note: You may be pleased to know that I have discovered that you can adapt other brands of stamps to work with this system by adding self adhesive cling foam to the back of your existing stamps – this is all that is needed. If the stamps that you have already have this on them then they are ready to go!

Play Time
So, having been given a full set of these tools to play with, and having done my research I set about playing, er, I mean researching.
I tried many of the recommended techniques which I will cover in the shows and also blog about in the future.
After a while I took a look at what I’d created and was very excited about the wonderful patterns that I had made.
Here are a few examples.

I’ve enjoyed all your recent shows and was disappointed when they finished although I know you had been working really hard doing all of them. I do hope you will be back soon to do some more shows of both inkadinkado and spellbinders as you are an amazing crafter.

Hi John, I love all your shows. Can you tell me if it is possible to buy just the paddles and the cogs on there own. I work in a home and some of the residents have Dementia and I would like to try this with them as they like doing different things.thanks Jean R.

It sounds like you would need a few of the ‘intro’ kits. Each kit comes with one paddle, one cog (choice of square or circle) and a set of 4 stamps plus instructions. They are priced at £14.99 per kit.

Hello John, I’ve really enjoyed watching your demos this weekend. I was wondering though, will the paddle in the square set fit the round gear and wheel?

Yes, it will – two points i should mention though is that the paddle for the circle set is wedge shaped so that designs can be created for a circular design and the square paddle has three notches that are designed to give perfect 45 degree angles when using it with the square wheel.
So in short, you’d be better off having the appropriate paddle for the shape that you intend to use.

Dear John loved the create and craft show with Inkadinkadoo products. have ordered the delux round set. will we be getting more stamps to use with this product in the future? also will you be getting products like versacraft inks to use on fabric as iIhave heard this is the best to use? again loved your show please do more of them nee1

I certainly hope that Create and Craft will be sourcing more designs in the future but I can’t confirm what or when at this time.
Create and Craft have stocked fabric ink pads in the past and will certainly suggest it to our buying team for future shows.

Dear John, I have received my round gear Delux inkadinkado, I think it is just fantastic and I am running out of paper, would recommend to anyone who loves stamping. hello john, thank you for this post, cant wait to see the shows, baited breath….your research, as we would expect of you, looks extensive and a lot of hard work. would i be right in thinking that this is similar to the “SPIROGRAPH”technique that was out years ago?. whilst I am so looking forward to your shows, I have this growing fear that this is going to cost me money..lol.. all the very best of luck with the launch..cheers,Peter.
